A week from tomorrow is Thanksgiving and then *boom* it is full-on, complete-force, full-steam ahead vacation errythang.
I’m far from the initial person to wonder “why does this season have to come to feel so crazy?” But, critically, why? Is it because we’re bombarded with more commercialism in every aspect of the season or that we’re seeing so much of what every person else is carrying out on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat?
This 12 months I’m asking myself, and hoping you’ll inquire yourself the same:
How do I feel like I’m doing sufficient this holiday?
No FOMO, no disappointment, no comparison, just great ‘ol adore and joy.
Not to get too didactic here, but I think the only way we can survive this entire shebang with the joy in our hearts that this season is meant to deliver, is to figure out what is essential ahead of it all starts.
Right now, take a break from whatever you are performing and jot down the 3-five items that are MOST critical about this time of yr to you. What are the non-negotiables. What are these three to 5 items that really truly make you grin ear to ear.
For me, I really like making cards. I love sitting down and considering about all the people in my daily life I couldn’t reside with out and making them something every special and particular. If every little thing else went to shit this Christmas I’d be okay, as lengthy as I could supply my special cards.
I have recently recognized that present giving may possibly be a single of my enjoy languages (no concept what I’m talking about, check out out this quiz.) The notion of distilling someone’s passions and personality traits into one thing unique and meaningful that they can cherish truly lights me up. The final couple years I neglected this aspect of the holidays (in reality, I sort of neglected all of it.) And as a result I felt a tiny hollow because of it.
Now that my priorities are intact I know that I’ll have a great season no matter what.
So whether or not it’s baking cookies, going caroling, having that particular holiday drink, expert gift wrapping, volunteering, or whatever get’s you going, make that listing, examine it twice and get pleasure from the crap out of this holiday season since you deserve it!

Chai Gingerbread Smoothie
- 1½ frozen bananas
- ½ cup unsweetened natural vanilla almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
- one handful of spinach
- one scoop of Vega Chai Protein Powder
- 1 tablespoon unsulphured blackstrap molasses
- one teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- Pinch himalayan of pink sea salt
- Location all ingredients into a large powered blender and mix till smooth
