Backbend Flow - Int. Class for Spine Flexibility & Strength (53 min)

Happy Yoga Thursday! This week I bring you another hour long class (okay.. so it's actually only 53 minutes, but close enough!) that focuses on developing spine flexibility and strength. This is an intermediate practice with an extra long savasana at the end and no music throughout the class, which is something that's been requested by a lot of people lately!
Backbends used to be really challenging for me because the truth is, it's a full body motion that requires so much more than flexibility in your spine. We will engage our core, open up the shoulders and hip flexors and play with poses like dancer, bow, tiger, wild thing and warriors!

Using music in a workout routine is a great way to make it fun. If you listen to your favorite tunes while working out, you will stay motivated. Music just seems to make people want to move, and it is ideal to make exercise enjoyable and interesting. Play some music while you are working out. It is a wonderful distraction, and the beats will make you want to shake your booty.
Find a member of your family or a good friend who also wants to lose weight, and consider joining with them to be workout buddies. Chart your progress together and enjoy each other's support. By talking to friends while exercising, it can make the time go by faster. When you do this, you will actually forget that you are working out and have fun, allowing you to stick with your plan.
Exercise-oriented video games are extremely helpful when it comes to finding a way to enjoy yourself while also remaining distracted from the true intensity of your workouts. There are a lot of different video games that you can choose from to help get you in shape. When you focus on making exercise entertaining, you'll be able to work out longer and harder without losing interest.
Buy clothing that looks good on you. This is a great motivator when you start working out. There are tons of different styles and colors of workout attire available. Thanks to the different options available, it is very easy to express your creativity when choosing an outfit. Workout clothing that suits your style is going to be a great motivating factor.
It is easy to get into a boring rut when you don't vary your exercise routine. If you are bored with your exercise routine, then you will start trying to avoid it. That is a sure-fire path to failure. Add excitement to your exercise routine by changing it up frequently. You'll find that not only do you enjoy your workouts more, but also that you are able to stay motivated and continue working towards your fitness goals.
Each time you achieve a fitness goal, give yourself a little reward. This will make you want to continue and keep moving. Don't worry, it doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate. Maybe you'd like to reward yourself with a little bit of chocolate, or maybe buying a DVD you've been dying to see. Your reward has to be something that will assist you with motivation. If you don't look forward to your reward, you may not keep following your fitness goal. It is imperative that you retain your motivation in your quest to lose weight.
The definition of exercise does not need to include boredom. There are numerous ways to transform a workout into a fun activity. These tips will help you start to build a more interesting, captivating fitness routine.
