This go-to homemade granola is going to be your breakfast bff. It’s simple to make and can make breakfast a breeze all week.
When I was in college, coming house for breaks I often felt the rush of warmth that accompanies being residence. For some purpose, a single detail that usually stood out on these visits was the remarkable bounty of fresh, homemade granola sitting on the counter in a big glass jar. (You know, that massive one from ikea).
We’d wake up in the morning, a minor hazy from months of going full velocity at university, with no actual prepare for the day. We’d stumble downstairs and there it was. The granola jar.
Clearly, this granola made an impression on me. It was scrumptious, but it was also a particular type of comfort. It tasted like residence. It was often there, waiting for us.
Now at 24, I’ve gotten utilized to the feeling of becoming a transplant, a nomad, a wanderer. Every single 12 months or so, I move to a distinct city or state. Practically nothing really feels like home. Proper now I in fact am back in the home I grew up in, but that won’t be for as well a lot longer. I nonetheless really do not feel like anything is long term. I do not truly feel settled. So I’ve gotten into the habit of daydreaming about my dream apartment. A room that in fact feels like mine.
It isn’t huge or fancy. It’s humble and filled with homemade specifics. Candles and plants and image frames. Naturally it would need huge windows (for this entire photography/site thang) and hopefully the kitchen would accommodate continuous creations.
But you bet there will be a granola jar. A huge glass 1, you know, the sort from Ikea. And it would be there every single morning waiting for me, some days laser centered, other folks hazy.
Occasionally I’d get fancy and fill the jar with my cinnamon granola, or go added crunchy with my grain-free granola or even get festive with my favourite gingerbread granola.
But most mornings I’d take pleasure in my go-to granola recipe. The one particular that’s never ever failed me. I hope you will attempt it and maybe really feel a minor of that “It’s very good to be home” feeling, as well.
