Sloppy Cauliflower Joes

Last week I made some Tacos out of a mixture of Cauliflower and Mushrooms, and they had been Wonderful!!  This mixture resembled ground beef so a lot I thought I consider it on one more comfort-food favorite……like these Sloppy Cauliflower Joes.  If you have finicky omni eaters who detest anything “veggie” or “Vegan” … sneak in one of these infants….. they may in no way know the variation!

I know, Cauliflower proper?

But I’m critical!  Other than the texture getting a small bit diverse….and that may possibly be due to the fact I pulsed the Cauliflower a tiny as well long in my Food Processor – the taste is SPOT ON Sloppy Joe goodness.

Yes, I know I have several Sloppy Joe recipes already.

Like these Black Bean Sloppy Joes correct out of the McDougall Swift and Straightforward Cookbook.  And even though these are very good….. smashed beans is not the typical Sloppy Joe texture that I’m utilized to.

I also have my Healthier Lentil Manwiches recipe – which is really great, but we’re using lentils as the filling, so again… the texture is a bit different.  Picky eaters will probably be in a position to see these are not “real” Sloppy Joes and turn away… even however they taste Amazing.

Plus there’s the reality I was beat up numerous times for using the title “Manwich” in the recipe identify AND that I utilised Corn Syrup…..doh!

But THESE Sloppy Cauliflower Joes….  they DO have a texture that’s Truly CLOSE to ground beef.  AND there’s no Corn Syrup in the recipe!

I’m just considering these might be my go-to Sloppy Joes from now on…..because they Actually ARE THAT Great!

And why is the texture so important you might inquire?

Because WE all know how exceptionally Excellent our foods tastes!

Specifically if it comes from Brand New Vegan…..heh   🙂

BUT…..people picky omnivores we all have in our loved ones….whether or not they be husband, kids, or no matter what….. at times won’t even Consider our meals, no matter how remarkable it could taste.

So Perhaps…..   Just Possibly…….  If they can’t Tell they’re consuming one thing healthy…..like my Tacos or these Sloppy Joes….we can at least get them to TASTE it!  And usually once they DO taste it they realize…….. “Hey – this rabbit food ain’t half undesirable”.

Proper?

So THAT’S why I’ve been on the Cauliflower Sloppy Joes, Cauliflower Tacos, and so forth kick these final few posts.  Making OUR food, search like THEIR food, so they’ll at least taste it.

Apart from – the recipes are exceptionally simple to make,  they are INSANELY yummy, and Cauliflower just happens to be Extremely healthful and good for us.

Win-win.

So let’s make some Sloppy Cauliflower Joes…..

Sloppy Cauliflower Joes | Brand New Vegan

Begin by sautéing half of a diced Yellow Onion, a diced Red Bell Pepper, and toss in a 4oz can of Green Chiles (or include a number of fresh Hatch Green Chiles, finely chopped,  if you have them)  Add a splash of Veggie Broth or water to preserve items from sticking and let that soften above low heat.

Meanwhile, add 4oz of White Button Mushrooms to your food processor.  (That’s half of a 8oz package you acquire in the retailer).  If you don’t have a Foods Processor – you’ll have to chop by hand.  The concept is chop so finely that they resemble rice granules, or ground beef.

Once the mushrooms are processed, dump them in a massive bowl and include 1 cup of Walnuts to the Food Processor.  Chop them to the very same consistency and add them to the bowl with the mushrooms.  If you’re attempting to lose bodyweight you can decrease the amount of Walnuts or get rid of them entirely, but they do add to the texture.

Ultimately, clean and chop ½ head of Cauliflower and pulse in your Processor to the very same consistency as the mushrooms and walnuts.  If you pulse as well extended you’ll finish up with a rice like texture (like in my images).  It’s taste the same, but the a lot more it resembles the texture of hamburger the simpler it will be to pass these off to a picky eater….just saying)

Include two Tbls of Soy Sauce to the Cauliflower mixture and mix well.  Add 2 cups of this mixture to your pan with the sautéed onions and stir properly.  Store the remainder Cauliflower Mixture for an additional recipe.

Gradually stir in a 15oz can of drained, Fire Roasted Tomatoes.

Last but not least, add in the Ketchup, the spices, and all the remaining components and stir effectively.   You can use Natural Ketchup, Reduced Sodium Ketchup, no matter what type you like – but preserve in thoughts that Heinz and numerous cheaper brand names use a lot of Large Fructose Corn Syrup.  I personally use Organic, or Hunts,  or make my own.

As the Cauliflower and Mushroom cook down they’ll release a great deal of their personal liquid – so simmer on med-minimal heat until most of that liquid evaporates off and the mixture begins to thicken, stirring sometimes.

Serve up on the bun or bread of your option and serve.

Now don’t inform them it’s cauliflower if they have difficulties with healthful meals!

Allow them taste it first and see if they like it!  Chances are – they’ll never know the difference!

Great luck!
